How do I share a gif through iMessage/texting?

To text/SMS, tap the small white speech bubble toward the top left of the save & share screen. This will open a new iMessage for you with your gif attached.

Note: If your GIF file size is over 1MB it will only animate if you and the recipient are on a wi-fi connection.
